A weekend gathering of Big Orange proportions is making its way to the islands of Charleston, SC with the second installment of the Vol Nation Golf Classic on Saturday, June 15th at Wild Dunes Resort.
The 4-man scramble style tournament will highlight a weekend full of memorable Tennessee Volunteer experiences. An alumni lead brass parade will kick things off downtown on Thursday at the Charleston City Night Market, and a “kickoff party” with live music will give everyone a chance to meet and greet Friday night at Charleston Beer Works. The event has a lot to offer non-golfers on Saturday as well. There will be beach parties, pool and spa activities, and more music, games, and dancing following golf.
The fundraiser supports the University of Tennessee’s Alumni Chapter Program by donating to the local scholarships of participating chapters. “There are 50+ active alumni chapters strengthening the Tennessee Volunteer spirit nationwide”, said Rick Tringali, founder of the event. “The appeal of Charleston and our new partnership with Wild Dunes Resorts creates a unique destination event for Vol Nation to come together in support of the brand reputation and student reach of our beloved university.” This year’s event is projected to fulfill a $25,000 scholarship endowment to support local Charleston students that choose the University of Tennessee for higher education.
